With the Intel Unite solution, you can turn any space into a virtual meeting room. This wireless collaboration solution enables fast, secure content sharing to room displays and other devices connected to your corporate network. Team members around the world can connect and share up to four screens at once.

Intel Unite software runs on a mini PC powered by Intel Core vPro processors. Place the PC behind a display or under a table to enable your virtual meeting room. Enter a pin to share content quickly and securely. Meeting attendees can highlight, markup and draw anywhere with live annotations.

As an open platform, Intel Unite software is highly customizable. Using Intel’s software development kit and Application Programming Interface (API), developers can create plugins to expand the software’s capabilities. You can install an existing plugin, or have your team develop a new plugin.

Q: How does Intel Unite for enterprise differ from the regular solution?
A: The stand-alone installation lets you install the Intel Unite hub for use as its own pin server and only works on a single subnet. Plugins are not enabled for the standalone version. The enterprise installation allows for spanning of multiple subnets, supports multiple hubs, and adds additional levels of security through access control lists.

Q: Can the Intel Unite hub share its desktop or apps?
A: The Intel Unite hub can be made to share content using its own desktop apps. However these documents will be view only.

Q: Will the Intel Unite hub stream audio and video?
A: An Intel Unite client (device) can stream video, but not audio to the Intel Unite Hub and attached AV equipment.

A: All manner of devices can connect to Intel Unite, including: displays, tablets, phones, laptops, projectors and interactive whiteboards.

Q: Can Intel Unite extend beyond the corporate network?
A: Intel Unite technology does not currently extend screen sharing outside the corporate network. To reach users outside of the corporate network, you will need to extend the Intel Unite hub with a collaboration plugin, such as Skype for Business.

A: To develop a plugin, you’ll need a development environment with Microsoft .NET* 4.0 software or later and the CFCPlugin.dll that provides the interface that comes with the Intel Unite hub software. To run and test the plugin, you will need an Intel Unite hub and an Intel Unite server, along with various clients. If a plugin requires UAC, it will not pass validation.
